Despite the overall positive reviews, there are occasional criticisms regarding service during peak times, particularly when the restaurant experiences a rush. Some diners note that food can take longer than expected during these busy periods, leading to frustration. A few patrons have mentioned issues with menu availability, particularly when specific dishes run out. Although the management handles these situations well, swift issue resolution can depend on the time of visit. A handful of reviews mention that the restaurant's social media presence needs improvement for updates, which can leave potential visitors in the dark about special events or hours.
We love this little jewel for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Never disappointed. Staff friendly and go beyond service The tribute nights are so good. Come for a coffee or ice cream to watch the tugs on the Manchester ship canal.
Really nice place, with multiple lovely views to pick from and awesome staff. Technically there were some problems (late food delivery meaning some dishes were not on, chef apparently walked out without warning), but these were dealt with so well that they actually add to my five star rating. The manager took everything in her stride and got people's meals out so fast you wouldn't believe there had ever been anything wrong. Food was also yum. The salt and pepper chicken burger is tasty, and much more innovative in execution than you might expect from a seaside pub/cafe.
Went here for lunch today ,Sept 2025 . It is open Found out the FB site isn't functioning so dont look there . Absolutely lovely little place . Brilliant food . Friendly . Would recommend too anyone They also have a fab little function room upstairs . The chef is a genius and his homemade burgers are exquisite. You made our day Thankyou .
Lovely place for breakfast, lunch or evening meal. It's just reopened under new management, so I popped in for a breakfast on the first day. Food was excellent and it's in a beautiful spot by the canal and National Waterways museum. There's seating indoors and outside. Perfect place to walk along the canal and then have a coffee and snack here. I noticed people sitting outside with their dogs.
A hidden gem. We went as a family of 3 & the food, atmosphere, location & staff were brilliant. Hot & hearty portions which were presented well. One of the female staff brought a Christmas colouring sheet over for our LG which I thought was nice. The Tutti Frutti gin was yummy too 👌 They have tribute nights too which we are very interested in Will definitely return. Lovely place.
Great location and views and handy for the National Waterways Museum, which it sits alongside. Has outdoor seating area, overlooking the Manchester Ship Canal. Clean and airy. Prompt service by pleasant staff. Lost a star because the poached eggs were simply overdone. I was so disappointed when I cut into them and no runny yolk was forthcoming. Also the 'smashed' avocado wasn't smashed at all, it was merely pieces of chopped avocado, quite bald and plain. However, it regained its lost star because a) the staff are quite lovely and b) they do loose leaf tea, not teabags! The loose leaf green tea came in a clear glass diffuser teapot, always impressed when a place makes that extra effort and attention to detail. Shame about the eggs and avocado, but they did deserve a 5 star.
Me and my friend had a nice breakfast. We enjoyed the beautiful view of the port. Service was very friendly.
